To drive a rental scooter, you must have a valid license appropriate for the engine size of the vehicle chosen (AM/B for 50cc, A1/A2/B for 125cc or higher).

Can foreign tourists drive a rental scooter in Italy?
Yes, if they meet the following requirements:
- EU citizens, or citizens of the European Economic Area, may use their own driving license. The license must be valid and allows them to drive in Italy the same vehicles they are authorized to drive in the country where the license was issued.
- Citizens of third countries, meaning countries that are not part of the European Union or the European Economic Area, must use their own driving license together with an International Driving Permit (IDP) or an official translation into Italian. All the documents mentioned must be valid.

50cc scooters require an AM license and can usually be driven with a standard car driving license
